Senior LIFE Lehigh Valley Announces Appointment of Robert Sauers as Executive Director

Senior LIFE Lehigh Valley is a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) that provides medical care and home support services for seniors

Bethlehem, PA — Senior LIFE welcomes Robert Sauers as the Executive Director of Senior LIFE Lehigh Valley located in Bethlehem. Senior LIFE is part of the national Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), which provides healthcare and support services for seniors so that they can remain living in their homes and communities. Services include physician and nursing care, medications, therapies, social services, meals and transportation. Senior LIFE is the largest PACE provider in Pennsylvania, serving over 1,200 participants in 11 counties.

Mr. Sauers has an extensive background in healthcare administration. For 24 years, he served in various positions at Coordinated Health of Bethlehem where he directed and managed the growth and expansion of the practice, adding physicians, specialists, specialty hospitals, surgery centers and rehabilitation operations among other lines of business. He is a fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE) and a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). Sauers is a long-time resident of the Lehigh Valley and currently resides in Bethlehem.

“The PACE program is a wonderful model of care,” says Sauers. “Nowhere else can seniors on low and fixed incomes get this kind of quality health care and home support services at no cost. I’m thrilled to lead this center and I’m committed to providing the highest quality of care and services to Lehigh Valley seniors.”

The PACE program is funded by Medicare and provides seniors with a wide variety of coordinated health and personal care services. The program brings together a coordinated team of doctors, nurses, social workers and therapists to provide seniors with an individualized care plan that addresses their unique medical care and social needs. The result is higher quality care and outcomes that are far more favorable compared to traditional care options.

Participants must be 55 years of age or older and live in Lehigh or North Hampton Counties. They must also be determined medically eligible based on health conditions, and financially eligible based on income and assets. For those who are not financially eligible, there is an option to pay privately for the services. Among Senior LIFE members, 99% receive all services at no cost.
