Senior LIFE Uniontown is part of a national program that is called LIFE, Living Independence for the Elderly in Pennsylvania, and is an alternative to nursing facility placement. The main goal of the program is to help seniors remain in the community for as long as possible.

The healthcare program is funded by Medicare and Medicaid, and allows lower-income seniors to receive the medical and social services they need to remain living in their home, all at no cost to them. Participants in the program have no deductibles, copays, and no cost for prescription drugs.

Senior LIFE Uniontown opened in December 2009 and has experienced tremendous growth in the last eleven years. It currently serves over 320 Fayette county seniors. Senior LIFE brings together a coordinated team of doctors, nurses, social workers, dieticians, therapists and home health aides to provide seniors with an individualized care plan that address their unique needs.
