On May 7, 2025, Mary Ann, a Senior LIFE Participant, reached an extraordinary milestone as she celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by friends, laughter, and cherished memories. The celebration, hosted at Senior LIFE Uniontown—where she has been a member since 2019—was filled with joy as staff, friends, and community members honored a century of a life well lived.
Born on May 7, 1925, Mary Ann has witnessed an incredible century of change, growth, and history. In 1945, she married her late husband Robert, with whom she shared 52 loving years and five children: Erica, Nikki, Bobby, and the late Barbara.
A 1945 graduate of Dunbar Township High School, Mary Ann worked for over a decade at Goodwin’s Cleaners in Connellsville. Known for her warm spirit and love of comedy, she credits her longevity to “good living and being good to everyone.”
“I just try to enjoy life and treat people well,” Mary Ann shared with a smile. “That’s the secret, if you ask me.”
Her 100th birthday celebration brought together friends from Senior LIFE, who have grown to love her kind heart and joyful nature.
“When someone turns 100, it’s more than a birthday—it’s a chance to celebrate the impact of a lifetime,” said Jeremy Cummings, Senior LIFE Uniontown’s Executive Director “Mary Ann’s life is a testament to kindness, community, and resilience.”
In 1925, the year Mary Ann was born, Calvin Coolidge was President, Babe Ruth led the Yankees to a World Series victory, and the average car cost $515. Much has changed since then, but what hasn’t changed is the deep value placed on those who enrich the lives of others—something Mary Ann has done for a century.
As Mary Ann looks ahead, her story serves as a beautiful reminder to live with joy, purpose, and love.
Happy 100th Birthday, Mary Ann!
